Caroline( Carol)'s Story

Life This life's bio is not for the faint at heart ! The content will include possible profanity and suggestive behavioral commentary. I can't help it if you don't necessarily agree with my life style ..... I am having a great life, in my opinion... at least so far... I went to college after high school, I studied art, I consider myself a professional Artist. I sell my work, but unfortunately , not enough to live on... I married Stevan Reed ,class of 1967. We were married for 25 years. He also is a professional Artist. We had no children ...YEAH!!!!!! We took a 5 year vacation from the marriage and are once again together for the rest of life's haul. Right after 5 years of college, I worked for a "bead company" named Bethlehem Imports...I traveled all around United States,as a gift show representative....I even spent a month in Israel, in 1972...that was an adventure....after Bethlehem Imports, I worked for Standard Brands Paint Co. for the next 18 years , in their art supply department. I also became the downtown San Diego store's "union" shop steward, with local 1222 ,UCFW, until I was offered a non-union position in a Standard Brands subsidiary, called the Art Store where I remained until the business was sold 3 years later.. Stevan and I are both alive an well and in good health. We lead a bohemian style life. Everything's cool.... That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!! Caroline Bailey ...over and out! School I'm going to use this space to give you some background information on the Now and Then photographs Stevan and I added recently. The "Now" photo is me and my beloved dog, Buddy. I'm driving a 1974 VW Thing, which I have had since 1978. It was almost rendered un-smogable because I didn't have all the smog parts for the engine. I had to sideline my car until the referee's located the parts. Stevan stuck them into the proper places in the engine compartment but never hooked them up...... It still passed, with middle of the road numbers. And I'm out over 200.00 for parts I had to buy in order to have my car smogged.....and it didn't need them..I was rooked into purchasing the parts.... and it pisses me off that our goverment allows this sort of thing to happen.... The "then" photo (Sally)... is a picture taken in TJ, a few years after high school....about 1971. Stevan and I are in the back on the right..)taken at the "Long Bar"... I had earlier written we were on the left in the photo, by mistake... College Ahhhhhhh yes, more free space to jump on another soap-box....let's see ....what shall I fill the space with here????? Wow, I just noticed you a entitled to 4000 characters here, 1000 more to blab-with.... Here's a bit of trivia. I am a hard-core Rolling Stones fan. Stevan and I have been to every concert they have had in San Diego and Los Angelas. We didn't go to this last one however. The last concert I attended was "Bridges to Babylon" at the stadium and I thought the Stones were way to stiff and choreographed and couldn't bear to see them this way again.I even started to fall asleep in ...Expand for more
my seat....I couldn't believe it.....twice my friend had to wake me up! I still think that experiencing a Rolling Stones Concert is something pretty extraordinary..... even falling asleep....was extraordinary! Really!....no Really!(ha!ha!ha!) Workplace Right immediately after high school...I had the pleasure to work with Ricky Foreman at his leather shop in the College Grove Shopping Center, named the Wooden Ship...Damn was he ever a slave driver.....(ha!ha!ha!) just kidding Ricky....after I got fired from there, (not really) I worked for a bead company called Bethlehem Imports. With this job I traveled all over United States and Israel, 5 years...I was fired from there.............actually...and began working for Standard Brands Paint Co. whom I had applied for a job while shopping for some canvas to paint on, and at my mother's insistance I asked for an application.....the manager told me how large the waiting list was for applicants to which I replied, that's good I didn't want a job right away anyway......that Saturday night......I recieved a phone call.....about 10:30. I had been drinking since noon and if it hadn't been for a chalkboard on the wall next to the phone, I never would have remembered getting the job....when I woke up the next morning, I asked Stevan....did I get a job last night? Sure enough, there the information was..scrawled on the chalkboard....they went belly-up after working for them ...18 years.... and I began working for a thrift store downtown called Bara's Foundation, fired but recieved employment through a mediation hearing ruling in my favor...I took the summer off, and from my patio table, sitting in the warm sunshine, at my parents (both of them being deceased )house, in beautiful Paradise Hills....I thought where would I like to work...part-time only..? I sat there an composed 5 letters, General Bead, of National City called first and I hopped aboard with them for the next 3 years, Employed by the owner, Michael .....Sunshine!!!!! AND....located in the zipcode area of.....91950 which.........is my "exact" birthday.....9-19-50......FYI for anyone remotely interested in that tidbit of information.... I think it's cool!.......... Caroline Military Arr-b-garrrr, ya lily livered swabs. Yeah I mean you, ya scurvy dogs. This here is Captain Rain, she captain of the wildest hen-friget this side of the Ivory Coast. Loving the sea-breezeblowing through my bandannaed hair, cutless sharp enough to slit the gullets of 10 drunken seadogs who dared to cast a maddog stare in my direction.,strapped to my leg , ready to draw into action, or an easy persuarder to encourage my favorite pasttime , of plank walking, although hanging one from the yard-arms measures right up there with plank walking favorites... Well maybe, I'll see you sailing the ocean blue....but watch out for my flying the jolly roger colors.....cause, I'll be coming after you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, don[yt take it personally swabs........it's just what I do!!!!!!!!!!!! Signed, Captain Rain of the hen friget.....Lucky Strike!
